In addition to my usual “Friday Faves” posts, I’m going to be doing a “Weekend Update” from now on. 🙂 This gives me a little bit more content to write about while capturing my entire week!
I have been going shoe crazy lately, which is weird for me because I hardly ever buy shoes!
I ordered these fun pom pom sandals from 6pm.com – I’ve been wanting to try out this trend but I’m not a fan of wearing really bright colors so when I saw these I thought they were perfect! And they’re Circus by Sam Edelman which is my absolute favorite brand of shoes. The best part is they were only $30. 🙂
I also got these Steve Madden wedges which look exactly like the Marc Fisher ones but for half the price, which I’m all about.
I’m going to two galas this month, which is crazy because I’ve never been to a gala before and now I’m going to two in one month?! I’m going to save some money by wearing dresses I already own, so I wanted to get a pair of black heels to match my dresses. I found these at Francesca’s and got them for $20!
I just discovered LCB Style on Instagram and have been absolutely loving her blog posts and Insta stories! All her posts are so adorable and aesthetically pleasing. I have also been obsessed with Charleston, South Carolina. I’ve been reading a ton of blog posts about this place (Kelly in the City’s here, The College Prepster’s here, plus Gal Meets Glam lives there and always posts adorable photos) I’m dying to go one day!
I am OBSESSED with these jeans from Francesca’s. This was a completely random purchase…I had been wanting a pair of distressed jeans for a while now, but every pair I liked was just way too expensive. I saw these on sale on the Francesca’s website and decided to order them, which is weird because I never buy jeans online, especially if I don’t know how they’ll fit. But these were on sale for $19 and they ended up fitting me perfectly! Love it when that happens. 🙂 They’re seriously the most comfy pair of jeans I own. They’re still on sale on their website, linked here.
I rekindled my love for Adele and have been listening to the album “25” alllll week… “All I Ask” has been on repeat in particular! Also found this Tropical House playlist on Spotify and it puts me in a good mood every time I listen to it, and gets me really excited for Summer. 🙂
Last week I spent two nights in Dallas for a work event which was really exciting! I know traveling for business doesn’t seem that fun, but this was my first time traveling on-site for one of our company’s events and it was a really cool experience! I traveled there with a few of my coworkers and although we worked most of the day, we went out to dinner in Downtown Dallas both nights we were there.
The first night we went to The Rustic which is a really unique venue that has a huge outdoor patio with twinkly lights and a stage for live music. The second night we went to Dallas Chophouse. I also got to see the JFK memorial and grassy knoll right where he was assassinated which was really interesting to see in person.
I was reading Truly, Madly, Guilty by Liane Moriarity..but I left it in the backseat pocket of the plane on my way home from Dallas. Womp womp. Hopefully I can pick up where I left off because it was just getting good! 🙁 So now I’m reading Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica.
Overall I’ve been feeling really motivated – motivated to workout, eat healthy, work on my blog, and save my money to plan some upcoming trips with friends and my boyfriend Anthony. I love feeling productive and getting things done. Really hope this feeling lasts! I’m also feeling excited for some things I have planned in March…going to see my friend perform in a musical in Downtown Indy, the Beauty and the Beast movie, and like I mentioned above, two galas! The first one is this coming weekend and supports the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. Peyton Manning will be there as the emcee! And Lee Brice is the featured performer! The company I work for is sponsoring a table at the gala and I was lucky enough to get an invitation. So thankful for this opportunity to support a great cause. The second gala will support the Purduettes – a choir I sang in throughout my four years at Purdue. It’s to celebrate our 75th anniversary and all of our accomplishments throughout the year. I’m so excited to celebrate this milestone and to see all my Purduettes friends that I haven’t seen in a long time. 🙂
